Run game night with confidence.

A practical guide for building games, connecting the venue display, and keeping Trivia or Music Bingo moving.

BEFORE GUESTS ARRIVE

Set up the host and television.

  1. Sign in on the host device

    Use your assigned organization login. Confirm that the location shown at the top is the venue where you are working.

  2. Choose Trivia or Music Bingo

    Open Host, choose the game type, select a published game, and create the live session or room.

  3. Open the audience display

    Put the display in a separate browser window on the television. Use full screen and press its sound or video enable button once if it appears.

  4. Test with one phone

    Scan the QR code, join with a test name, and advance one question or song before admitting the crowd.

ROASTED TRIVIA

Build, publish, and host Trivia.

  1. Build a draft

    Open Trivia, select an existing draft or create one, add rounds and questions, then save. Picture, audio, and video clues can use multiple choice or fill in the blank.

  2. Review and publish

    Preview every round, verify answers and media, then publish an immutable revision. Hosting always uses a published revision, not an unfinished draft.

  3. Run each question

    Queue the question, allow the five-second reading period, and let Dabgo start the authoritative timer. Multiple-choice answers lock when tapped; typed answers may enter spelling review.

  4. Advance round boundaries

    Reveal the answer, review fastest and correct counts, then advance. Round standings and intermission music appear between rounds; the final screen shows total scores.

Open a digital-card room.

  1. Confirm Spotify

    The venue Spotify account must be connected, Premium, and playing through an available Spotify device. Open Spotify on that device before room setup.

  2. Choose room rules

    Select the published game, number of songs, and winning patterns. Rooms default to 75 songs and all standard patterns on first use. Your pattern choices and penalty settings are remembered in this browser for your account and location. Optionally enable the incorrect-square claim penalty (1–10 seconds per miss). It is off on first use. Players see their accumulated delay and a countdown when claiming; the earliest eligible valid claim wins. Players’ accumulated penalties reset in each new room.

  3. Choose optional win sounds

    Enable win sounds before opening the room. Choose Fanfare, Arcade or Chime, or select an uploaded clip. Staff with upload permission can add MP3, WAV or OGG files up to 5 MiB and ten seconds. Select up to five sounds and arrange their order to cycle through wins. Set the volume and preview them. On the TV, click Enable / test win sounds for each room to allow browser audio. Enable only the TV feeding your speakers; phones stay silent and Spotify/video playback continues.

  4. Start the display and cards

    Open the television display and enable video playback if prompted. Players scan the QR code and receive unique cards on their phones.

  5. Call songs and verify wins

    Use Call random or automatic calling. Available Spotify album art appears as soon as the song changes unless a video background is assigned. Set TV song-name reveal delay on the host screen from 0–120 seconds (default 10; zero reveals immediately). Apply changes during a game for the next song; the current song keeps its original reveal time. Your successful choice is remembered for the next room in this browser and location. The TV top row and phone card squares show titles without artists. Dabgo validates marked songs and announces each available pattern winner.

  6. Move everyone to the next game

    The TV end screen shows pattern winners plus round highlights: fastest average marking time, slowest mark, most wrong selections, biggest enabled penalty, most catch-ups and most patterns won. Highlights use recorded play only; catch-up does not count toward speed. End the room and use the new-game transfer option so current players can accept their next card without scanning again. Stats reset with each new card.

BETA HOST ONBOARDING

New location checklist

  • For another host at your own organization, an administrator opens Operations → Invitations and approvals, selects the location and role, and sends an invitation to the host's Google email.
  • The recipient opens the email link, verifies that Google account, enters their name and submits. The administrator approves the pending invitation in Operations. The recipient then checks status and signs in; sending an invitation alone grants no access.
  • For an independent workspace, open Beta access, verify your Google identity, and submit your venue details.
  • A platform operator approves the request in Beta requests. Return to Beta access to check status, then sign in normally.
  • Assign Host for running games, Game Editor for building games, or Location Manager when one person needs both plus venue setup.
  • Upload or remove that location's TV logo in Operations.
  • A Location Manager connects that venue's Spotify account.
  • The Spotify account is Premium and approved for the configured developer app.
  • The location runs one full display-and-phone rehearsal before its public event.
  • Browse the Music Bingo catalog by description, artists or sample card names. Choose a game and published revision to host; track count and patterns are chosen when creating the room. Authors can edit each game's catalog description in the Bingo builder.

Game content and provider credentials are separate. A location's Spotify login is never included with game content. In Library, workspace owners can copy explicitly shared published master games into their own workspace. Editing or deleting your copy never changes the original. Operators choose which revisions to share; unsharing stops new copies but does not remove copies already made. Existing members joining an established venue still use administrator-managed staff access.

QUICK RECOVERY

When something does not look right

Spotify device is missing

Open Spotify on the venue playback device, start any track, then refresh devices in Dabgo. Confirm that the correct location is selected.

Video or sound will not autoplay

Return to the audience display and press Enable sound or Enable video playback once. Browsers require that first interaction.

A player left without answering

Remove the absent player from the host console. Dabgo will no longer wait for that player before revealing the answer.

The host browser refreshed

Reopen Host and resume the previous session. Dabgo restores the authoritative server state instead of restarting the game.

The television layout is cropped

Use browser full screen, reset browser zoom to 100%, and set the television input to Just Scan, Screen Fit, or its equivalent.

A phone cannot scan the QR code

Enter the eight-character join code from the display on the Play page. The code works the same as the QR link.
